The following is a directory of LDS-related communities devoted to addressing issues relevant to Mormonism (if you know of a community that should be added to
this list, post the URL here). Some of these forums may present
material that you would consider offensive or in explicit opposition to your beliefs. ZLMB and its administration does not necessarily endorse the links that
follow, and participants are advised that if they explore them, they do so at their own risk. This table is provided merely to inform our constituency.
"Level of LDS Friendliness"
From a continuum of +4 (very friendly) to -4 (very unfriendly). There is significent elasticity in how these forums are rated, but these ratings are provided as a snapshot of the general climate.
+4 forums will be closed to non-LDS participation, will not allow criticism of the brethren or the accepted reality of the Church's authenticity, and will never allow in depth description of the endowment.
+3 forums will be controlled by "orthodox" or "mainline" LDS, will generally not allow overt criticism of the brethren or the accepted reality of the Church's authenticity, and will never allow in depth describing of the endowment, but will allow gaurded LDS-critical participation.
+2 forums will be controlled by "orthodox" or "mainline" LDS, will generally allow some criticism of the brethren or the accepted reality of the Church's authenticity, but will never allow "detailed" discussion of the endowment. +2 forums will allow LDS-critical participation.
+1 forums will be administered by LDS and/or will exhibit balance of partisan control, will generally allow overt criticism of the brethren or the accepted reality of the Church's authenticity, will potentially allow some in-depth discussion of the endowment. LDS-critical participation encouraged and expected.
-0 forums will not be controlled by any interest or will be controlled by those who are non-LDS, or will enjoy multi-partisan control, will allow overt criticism of the brethren or the accepted reality of the Church's authenticity, and will generally allow discussion of the endowment. -0 forums will encourage any person to participate.
-1 forums will be controlled by those who are non-LDS or who are LDS-critical, will allow overt criticism of the brethren or the proclaimed reality of the Church's authenticity, and will allow discussion of the endowment. -1 forums will encourage and expect "orthodox" LDS participation.
-2 forums will be controlled by those who are LDS-critical, will encourage overt criticism of the brethren or the proclaimed reality of the Church's authenticity, and will allow discussion of the endowment. -2 forums will generally allow "orthodox" LDS participation.
